So, I needed these brackets for a completely different and unusual reason. We have a back deck that is about 15’ off the ground. This deck is surrounded by Wisteria that grows around the frame of the deck. It’s gorgeous. But because of the Wisteria, we don’t want to put railings up. We can’t really have both so we keep the Wisteria. The problem is though that we have 3 small dogs that we were always worried would fall through the Wisteria and off the deck. So consequently we haven’t used the deck much in the past few years. With COVID this year, we decided to do something about this problem so we could use the deck more. After a bunch of thought, we settled on buying a plastic garden boarder fence that is 15” tall. We cut the stakes off the bottom of the fence and put it up around the deck. It ended up being a great solution. Only problem was it was a bit unstable and tip forward. We didn’t want to put a bunch of holes in the deck and we trying to think of another way to stabilize it more but we coming up blank. As I started to research solutions on line, I came up with the idea of using plumbing pipes and flanges as “legs” and zip tying the fence to them. That thought led me to these shelf brackets. These are a great quality, the seller shipped promptly and took great care to make sure the product didn’t get damaged during shipping. When they arrived, I still wasn’t sure how I was gonna make my idea work. What we ended up doing was mounting one of these brackets at every joint, staggering them every other joint in the front and the back. Couldn’t be happier with the result and now we get to have more outdoor space that is safe to use without the worry of one of our little guys getting hurt. Perfect solution.
