Our daughter received this for Christmas and my husband put it together that weekend. It took around 12 hrs to put it together with just him doing it alone. I imagine it would be quicker with an extra helping hand. My daughter has absolutely loved this bed from the get go and I have especially loved the extra storage we get from the drawers by the stairs. We live in a very old house that has minimal closet storage so the drawers have been fabulous with organizing her everyday clothing. The bottom drawer is exceptionally large, I use it for extra bed sheets. The pull out drawer under the bottom bunk is great storage for her board games and puzzles. The staircase is sturdy for us and the the top bunk is very sturdy for our daughter (50lbs) and I (120lbs) and my husband (190lbs) to sit/lay on (there's no "give" or cracking noises). The bottom bunk has the same support as well. The desk and cubbies hold all of her trinkets/books and has plenty of work space for her and her studies. We ordered the bed in white and it looks great in her room. The finish is smooth and semi glossy and is a breeze to wipe dust and dirt off the steps when needed. We are just over the moon about this bed! It has been a great purchase, it came in several days before the expected delivery date, and the directions are pretty straight forward.
