As described, I would not recommend putting too much on it as I am only using for toddler little books and small dolls. It took me 1 and half hour to put together. Be careful and don’t rush because you can been the metal bars. Slow down don’t forget the fabric you have to add on each shelf because a it’s hard to get bars apart without breaking them. Glad they put extra in package. For bigger kids or heavier items I would not recommendIf you want something nice and sturdy, don’t get this. It’s good for a quick cheap easy book shelve but if you want a nice sturdy bookshelf, I’d go elsewhere.I got to to display my action figures and statues now that I have a very active toddler in the house and don’t want him running into my glass cabinets. First of the picture was very misleading. I was thinking that the shelve was made of a more sturdy material. I build the first shelve and place one of my statues on it to see if it would fit, and the material you can tell already has puncture marks in it.Next I try to put an action figure on it. But if you don’t have the feet on the poles, it won’t stand. Also on of the poles were bend right out of the box. If is fine for my lower end statues. Like I said this is very very misleading. It serves the purpose.i like .-A little difficult to put together. The quality of the product is not that great considering where it was made. But it is acceptable for what I need it for. Whatever happened to made in th USA products?I didn't expect it all to be such cheaply made parts. The product description and pictures are definitely misleading. The words "sturdy" and "solid" do not describe the connectors. They're hollow plastic. The picture shows books on the shelves, but they're either edited in the pictures or they're hollow, lightweight props, because there is NO way this "shelf" will hold all that weight. The bottom parts of each shelf are the paper cloth stuff and will droop down, or possibly rip, if not placed right on the bars. The number of parts printed on the instructions do not match what I received, but it was the exact amount that was needed. I did not use the little wooden mallet since everyone has said it ruined and bent the rods. I was able to get them in fairly easily by just twisting them in back and forth. I planned on using this for my sewing fabrics, and still plan on doing so. It should be okay until I get something of better quality.Took me about an hour to get it all put together.
