wanted to have custom cabinets on either side of the fireplace. Since I rent, I did not want that expense. I found these cabinets with max weight for the shelves included in the descriptions. Knowing I wanted my one 10 gallon fresh water and 15 gallon salt water fish tank displayed on them. I mounted power strips on the side of the unit to keep all the cords from the entertainment center and fish tank cords from laying on the floor. I also customized the cabinets with lighting and custom painted counter top, to better go with my theme in this room. I really do love how they came out.So far they are holding up well. The fish tanks have been on the cabinets for a about 2 months now. The only issues i have noticed is that the wight of the tanks does make it harder to open and close the drawer. I am very happy with this purchase.
