Between the 2 desks I had to order I was eventually able to completely assemble it from parts that weren't broken, scratched, cracked, mislabled or incorrectly drilled. The top of the first one was basically destroyed, and 2nd one had parts drilled upside-down/backwards. Some shelving side pieces were cracked, and one piece had a plug inserted that popped right out upon trying to screw things together, requiring multiple trips back to the 1st box for replacements. Luckily UPS hadn't yet picked up the return so I could mix and match to cobble together a complete desk.Assembly was fairly straightforward, though it required a separate Phillips-head (X) screwdriver that isn't included, in addition to the hex/Alan wrench that was included. Careful w/the hex wrench not to scratch the heck out of your shelves as you assemble them. Also be sure to separate, label & closely check which bolts you use. The 1st batch I got weren't properly labeled, and if you use the wrong bolts you'll likely ruin it. The top scratches rather easily. After < 1 mo of use, it's badly chipped right in front where I have my keyboard. It really is just a paper-thin veneer.Final product looks nice (for now) & is sturdier than most pressboard desks, but it's a bit small and I doubt it'll last more than a few years. Minimalist design is good though & is forcing me to keep things clean! Would like if you could choose which side to place the shelves on - I'm left-handed so it's a bit awkward, but it works. Overall, I'm pretty happy w/it for the cost & it meets my immediate needs. Just wish it hadn't taken multiple orders & returns to finish. 5-stars for Amazon Prime & their quick, relatively painless return policy. Also 5-stars for the Customer Service person I spoke with about coordinating the return. For the desk itself, a bit lower rating...
